  • A Bit About Me.

I'm Kerry. Loud. Shy. Tattooed. Mom to 5 boys & 1 girl. Watch a lot of TV. A lot. Music..love my music & am currently hooked on Father John Misty. Formerly addicted to Mountain Dew. Resigning myself to the fact that I actually do like living in the desert; was so lucky to have lived in Seattle for 14 months and am now back in Phoenix... for now. Red Wine. My fisheye lens is my favorite. I crave oysters fortnightly & am likely to talk your ear off if given the chance.

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I do. This is where you'll find all my recent work both professional and personal. I focus on relaxed portraiture, capturing the 'real' you, the portraits that will make you smile for years to come. Families, couples, small weddings, children & Seniors are my favorite subjects.

Bishop’s Senior Portraits | Phoenix Senior Photography

Bishop is one of my favorite people.  He’s one of the most genuine, outgoing, vivacious people you could ever meet, and I’ve had the privilege of knowing him since he was in third grade.  I’ve watched him grow into the awesome young man he’s become; he’s got a fantastic family, and a great group of friends who have helped shape him along the way so far. Bishop is a member of North Canyon’s 2013 graduating class and has plans to go to Grand Canyon University next year. He’s active in Drama and watching him on stage is pretty cool, and in a few short months, I’ll watch him walk across another stage as he gets his diploma alongside his best friend, my Luke, so I get to cry twice as much and have double the pride. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.:)

Luke’s Senior Portraits | Phoenix Senior Photograpy

Luke is my oldest, and in three days {2/20} he will be 18 years old. Eighteen!! It’s hard to believe the sweet little toddler with the bowl cut is nearly an adult and getting ready to graduate from North Canyon High School.  People tell you it goes by fast; they were right!  He’s grown into a terribly handsome guy and I am incredibly proud of him.  Before moving back to Phoenix, I visited in October and gathered Luke and his two best friends for a Senior session, then a month later come back for another short visit, during that visit I shot a few more of Luke after he got a haircut.  Having such a good kid makes watching him grow his wings and prepare to start his life a little easier for this Mom.  So, in a few short months he will be an official 2013 graduate & he’s looking pretty good:)

Changes | Phoenix, AZ Photographer

My personal life has been going through some pretty major and heartbreaking changes. These changes have brought me back to Phoenix, a move that I hope is only a temporary one and that in a few years, I can move back to Seattle, the place I consider my home. I am starting over in pretty much every aspect of my life, and while this is the most challenging experience of my life, I am making an effort to make it as positive as I can and embrace the place I am right now. I am making changes in my life that will help me be a better and stronger person and to truly love all parts of my life. One part of my life that I love is, of course, photography, and am excited to continue to take portraits. I have a few Senior sessions to post and when I am settled in, I will share them. If you are in the Greater Phoenix Area and are looking to have portraits taken, let’s talk:)

Here’s to a new year, a new start, and creating the life you want! Cheers to 2013 & happy days ahead!

Melissa’s Senior Portraits | Seattle Senior Photography

This is Melissa.  She is stunning, unique, a talented singer and musician, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, excels in Ju Jitsu, Judo, Nin-jitsu, Kali, Krav Maga among other martial arts. Seriously! Melissa also happens to be my son, Luke’s girlfriend.  Bonus for me, because I was able to have a super fun session with her {and Luke} & meet her for the first time.  She’s a super sweetheart, terribly funny & just a bit shy… and has some pretty great hair!  We spent our session in downtown Phoenix and took advantage of the super cool backdrops created by local Phoenix artists.  It had been a year since I was in Phoenix, and was married in the building, MonOrchid a little over 2 years ago.  There has been a lot of change to the building and surrounding area, and it is definitely a dream to shoot there, made only better by the gorgeous Melissa!

Brandon’s Fall Portraits | Seattle Teen Photographer

Brandon is number 2 in the line up of my 6 kids.  He is 16 and a Junior this year at Roosevelt High School.  Brandon is also not a huge fan of having his mom take his picture, especially when the location is on a fairly busy road of cars and walkers.  There were too many people watching him, so he didn’t make it easy on me, let me tell you!  One thing Brandon always does, is laugh and make me laugh along with him with his shenanigans, so we had a good time for the 15 minutes he let me shoot him.  A couple of his requirements were his ever-present headphones; they are always on his head or around his neck, a band shirt, and his jacket.  He wears pretty much all black, band shirts and his jacket even when it’s warm outside.  These portraits definitely show Brandon’s personality & what he is all about right now.  I love that.  They just make me happy.  He’s a great kid, though at 16 can you still call him a kid?  I suppose I always will no matter how old he gets.
